Biography
I've been an animal lover as long as I can remember and I've been teaching others about nature ever since elementary school when I would create presentations about wildlife in Lotus Freelance Graphics and put them on 3.5" floppy disks to show my classmates.
While technology has changed, my passion for teaching others about nature has not. After earning a degree in Outdoor Education and spending several years teaching at outdoor science schools operated by organizations like the YMCA, 4-H, and the Appalachian Mountain Club where I would lead students on hikes and activities to explore nature, I finally decided to write a book titled A Backyard Safari to share my experience and insights with you so that you can discover the wildlife living in your own backyard or a nearby park or nature preserve. I hope that, unlike an expensive three-day field trip to an outdoor school, this book will provide you with an affordable and insightful point of reference for many years and many adventures to come!
If you would like to learn more about the great outdoors, consider purchasing a copy of A Backyard Safari, or attending one of my presentations. I hope to inspire every reader and every attendee with a greater appreciation and respect for the beauty of nature.
